WE LIVE IN A VUCA WORLD!

While not a well-known word for all people, VUCA is the perfect acronym to describe the environment we are all in right now. Actually, this word/acronym is very well known in the business industries.

VUCA stands for….

Volatility - refers to the speed of change or dynamism in an industry, market or the world in general.

Uncertainty - refers to the extent to which we can confidently predict the future. The more uncertain the world is, the harder it is to predict.

Complexity - refers to the number of factors that we need to take into account, their variety and the relationships between them. Under high complexity, it is impossible to fully analyze the environment and come to rational conclusions. The more complex the world is, the harder it is to analyze.

Ambiguity - refers to a lack of clarity about how to interpret something. The more ambiguous the world is, the harder it is to interpret.

So how do we thrive in a VUCA environment? The COVID-19 pandemic caused various challenges, hardships and heartaches. However, it also presented new opportunities that we all can take on. It is a matter of one’s perspective in dealing and accepting these facts.
